DoubleTag-Teamed for Meme
Not just one, but two folks have tagged me for the “8 Things about Me” Meme. Since I am now double-tag teamed by Theresa at Lapaz Farm Home Learning and Sarah at Unbridled Learning , I will play along.
The rules are simple…Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts theirnames, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
8 Things About Me
1. I have read one book a week for the last two years. Over the course of the year, I also include at least six classics, and another dozen non-fiction.
2. I hate tardiness. I think it is inconsiderate to others. I arrive everywhere at least 15 minutes early. Always.
3. I have Craft ADHD. I am truly the “Jill-of-all-trades, master-of-none” when it comes to crafts. I enjoy crochet, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, painting, etc. Yet, I don’t have the focus to get beyond to “the next” level on most things. I just happily putter along, changing medium frequently.
4. I will never take a cruise. As a child, I was on a sinking ship and drove off in a smaller craft with my mother as my father and the other men stood on deck in a lifevest. He was rescued later, but the trauma of that is something I can’t overcome.
5. I have a royal connection in my family tree. My maternal family tree has been traced back to Wales and Queen Elizabeth I. I am directly descended from her caretakers , Thomas and Blanche Parry, and I have been fascinated with learning so much about the period due to this long link.
6. I have done some strange things for money. I once ate 17 goldfish at a frat party to win top prize money that I used to buy my books for the semester. I also mud wrestled with my roommate at a bar in Boston for $300 when we were stranded needing car repairs.
7. I am completely technologically challenged. I struggle with the simplest tasks like uploading photos to my blog and setting an alarm clock. Truly, it is embarrasing how retarded I am.
8. I hate vacationing for longer than three days. This certainly makes it difficult to take long trips, but I can’t sleep in hotels. Caffeine and adreniline can usually keep my going for three days, but any longer I have to take Rx sleep meds.

I am the mother of two wonderful children, ages 12 & 15, that I have been homeschooling using a blend of Charlotte Mason and unit studies for ten years. My hubby is a terrific dad, contractor and big kid, and we also have two furry, four-legged children others would call “dogs.” I am a total crafty mama, trying my hand at almost anything, and enjoying most.
Those are so great! I’m so with you on #2!! How awful for you on #4! I’m so sorry that happened!

I know I never mud-wrestled in Boston, but I’m sure you’ll see SOMETHING wierd from that era from that era of my life…I’ll post later today!
One book a week. Wow, I should make such an effort. I actually have Reading ADD. Really, I start so many books and then become overwhelmed. The Spring Reading Thing has helped the past two months but all is broken down and I have 6 non-fiction books on my bedside. #6 is too funny and adds quite a differnt dimension to your life.
